Blessing of the Animals

Join us at St Cuthbert's for a service of Blessing of the Animals.

The service will take place on the lawn. We will pray for God’s blessing on animals, give thanks for the way they bless us, celebrate the good gifts of the earth, and consider how we can contribute to the fifth mark of mission ‘To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation, and sustain and renew the life of the earth. Perhaps you have an alpaca you would like to bring? Or a boa constrictor, worm farm or galah?

The service will include singing, prayers, a story for children of all ages, holy communion and a very special blessing prayer for all animals. Please make sure your animals are on a leash or in a cage. You might also like to bring a rug with you.

This will be a relaxed and fun occasion, followed by morning tea.
